Hello,
My Father was a Navy Sailor stationed in Bermuda in the mid 60’s. I have been to Bermuda many of times but I can’t ever find our old house. Is there a way to find out what the address was so when I come next time we might be about to see it.
His Name is Robert Lee Gwinn US Navy
Hi Bermuda Archives
I asked this question on the excellent “Understanding Local Resources” presentation Mar 17 about the genealogical resources available in Bermuda and particularly at the Bermuda Archives and Library.
In Clara Hollis Hallet’s data base at the National Museum of Bermuda (of which I am member) she has a record listed under Thomas Burrows. The record is: “Thomas Burrows, 1639, May 22, bond to indentured servant Thomas Packwood for four years” with the reference: CR2:14B. The key at the front of her data base says that C.R.. stands for Colonial Records. I am guessing the 2 is for volume(?) no. 2 and 14B is the page number.
I am interested in obtaining a digital copy of this record. Can you tell me how I might obtain such a copy? Thanks very much for your help and the excellent presentations.

Robert Bedwell is my first generation grandfather and I’m looking to learn more about him and my family.
I am planning to come to Bermuda and need to do some preliminary research identifying some of my ancestors.
I know that a branch of the Basden family came there, I believe quite early. 1500’s or 1600’s
I would also be interested in doing a Zoom meeting with Ellen Hollis. She had a Genealogy Pop In yesterday, 7/17/2025, that I couldn’t attend as it was in person.
I believe the data that I seek is actually there, in the Bermuda recorded history that isn’t readily available, here in the U.S. I am looking for anything available.
How do I even get started?
